Effective risk management
As experienced practitioners in our respective fields we appreciate the importance of managing risk. However it's often easier said than done in practice. We might have created a flipchart full of risks at project inception and even written them up, but then managing that list over the life of the project is painful. As busy professionals with a day job to do we don't need sophisticated risk management systems that offer monte carlo simulations and PHD level algorithms that can confuse more than clarify.
It's why we built a simple but effective Risk Map in PAM. It is a tool that enables you to quickly and easily address risks and issues associated with your activity, and even turn them in to opportunities. Risks often get overlooked in projects and partnering activity until too late; they then become issues that could compromise the success or profitability of the initiative. The Risk Map offers a quick and effective means of addressing risks based on their probability and impact, meaning you can direct effort to where it is needed the most. With a comprehensive yet pragmatic and simple approach to risk management, the Risk Map enables teams to work collaboratively on addressing the risks, not spend hours managing risk registers and associated processes only to find no one ever updates them or refers to them in practice.
Wherever there is a risk there may also be an opportunity; the Risk Map could help you uncover risks and issues at an internal or partner level that could be addressed effectively with your proposals; indeed use of the Risk Map output (as with the stakeholder map will signal strong quality and depth in capability to your target audience helping you get the outcomes you want.
As with all the PAM tools and modules alliantist can develop tailored or bespoke solutions for your environment. We built a specific version of the Risk Map for Probation that follows their national standards. It's not only bringing about a more efficient delivery versus the old bureaucratic paper based method, it has also opened up new opportunities for the proactive management of business risks to secure better results for the service in their efforts to reduce reoffending and improve public protection.
